Intensive online German courses

Learn more about our courses
Our intensive online German courses are designed for learners who want more frequent classes. In two or three 2.5-hour live sessions per week, you work on the content of your chosen sublevel. A course usually lasts around six weeks; check your group’s exact dates.
This format suits specific goals such as study, work or exam preparation. Courses are organised into sublevels from A1.1 to C1. One course does not automatically cover an entire CEFR level.
Courses include Campus access with interactive exercises, online tutoring, class recordings and certification under the course conditions. Groups have a maximum of 16 participants. International ÖSD exams are booked and paid for separately.

Frequently asked questions about intensive courses
Choose the right course
How long is an intensive course and how often are the classes?
An intensive course has two or three 2.5-hour live classes per week. A course usually lasts around six weeks, but this can vary by group and frequency. Check your group’s exact start and end dates.
What is the difference between extensive and intensive courses?
An extensive course has one 2.5-hour class per week and spreads learning over more weeks. An intensive course has two or three 2.5-hour classes per week. Choose according to your availability for classes and independent practice. Check each group’s exact dates.
Does A1.1 cover the entire A1 level?
No. A1.1 is part of A1. Completing A1 requires A1.1 and A1.2, or equivalent knowledge. Each course card identifies the specific sublevel. The duration of one course therefore does not represent the time needed to complete an entire CEFR level.
Do I need previous knowledge and how do I find my level?
You do not need any German knowledge to start at A1.1. If you have studied German before, take our free placement test before choosing a course. The result helps you select a course suited to your current knowledge.
Plan your classes and study
Can the same level have several groups?
Yes. A level may have several groups with different days, times or start dates. Open “View groups and times” to compare them. You enrol in a specific group, so check its complete schedule and dates.
Can I join from Chile, Brazil, Mexico or another country? Which time zone is shown?
The courses are online and you can join from another country. Course times adapt to the time zone detected in your browser. The ⓘ icon beside each time shows the original time in Argentina (UTC −3) and international equivalents. Check the displayed time zone, especially when travelling or when daylight saving time changes during the course.
How much study time do I need outside class?
In addition to five to 7.5 hours of live classes per week, we recommend three to four hours for revision and Campus activities. This is a guideline. Your actual needs depend on the level, your previous knowledge and your learning pace.
Are recordings available if I miss a class?
The course includes recordings of live classes so you can review the content on the Campus. Watching a recording does not automatically fulfil attendance or assessment requirements. If you expect to miss classes frequently, ask for advice on a suitable group before enrolling.
What do I need for online classes?
You need a computer with a microphone and headphones, a stable internet connection and a place where you can listen and participate. Also set aside time for Campus activities. Check the technical requirements on the course page before starting.
Prices, enrolment and certificates
How can I view prices in US dollars or euros and which payment methods are available?
Select ARS, USD or EUR to view the total course price in that currency. The website remembers your choice. ARS payments include bank transfer and cards through MercadoPago; USD and EUR payments include international cards or PayPal. Check the amount and payment method before buying. If your card uses another currency, your bank or payment provider handles conversion.
Is the textbook included in the course price?
No. The specified course material is purchased separately. Before buying, check the book and edition for your level on the books and materials page. Different levels may use different books.
How do I enrol and check whether places are available?
Choose your level, open the course page and select a group with registration open. Review its days, times, dates and price, then use the enrolment button to continue. Full groups and closed registrations are marked. If no suitable group is available, ask about upcoming options.
Is the course certificate an international ÖSD certificate?
No. Course certification and the international ÖSD exam are different. The course includes the assessment and certification described on its page. The ÖSD exam requires separate registration and payment. Sprachzentrum Buenos Aires is an ÖSD exam centre. See the exam dates and conditions. A sublevel such as A1.1 does not cover the whole A1 level.
